Sunday Offertory Envelopes
Parishioners who contribute to our Offertory
collection are encouraged to use Offertory Envelopes. Doing this allows us to
prepare a receipt for your annual contribution, which you can use when filing
your income taxes.
Ask at the Office for a box of envelopes. Fort
the first few Sundays, write your full name and address on the box to make
sure we record your information. From then on, all you need to do is drop the
envelope in the Offertory basket (but pease
remember to write the offering amount on the face of the envelope where
indicated.)
Quite clever of the UN to do this. Go to the
Hunger Site at the UN. All you do is click a button and somewhere in the
world some hungry person gets a meal to eat, at no cost to you. The food is
paid for by corporate sponsors. All you do is go to the site and click.
You are only allowed one click per day, so spread
the word to others.

The St. Martin de Porres
Lectio Divina prayer
group meets on the first and third Thursdays of every month. St. Martin's parishioners, as well as parishioners from
other parishes, are warmly invited to join us. Each meeting lasts about 75-90
minutes.
"Lectio Divina" is a contemplative method of prayer used
both in the monastic world as well as by lay people. This prayer method of
the 'heart' allows the Word of God to speak to a person in the current
circumstances of their lives. Many Christians have found it to be a
wonderful, calming method of prayer.

St. Martin's
Legion of Mary extends an invitation to all youth of the parish between 7 and
17 to join the Junior Legion of Mary. The Legion meets every Saturday between
5 and 6 pm at the church. The rosary is prayed and we deepen our knowledge of
the faith through prayers and active works. For more information, please call
